GDP’s leader works with border unit
PANO – A delegation of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by its Deputy Director Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, visited and worked with the Ha Tinh provincial Border Guard Command on July 27.
During the working session, on behalf of the Ha Tinh provincial Border Guard Command, its Commander Colonel Vo Tien Nghi briefed the delegation on the unit’s task performance in protecting national sovereignty and border security, crime prevention and control, external border relations, as well as assisting local people in socio-economic development and natural disaster response.

In the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the border unit has established 16 checkpoints with 300 troops at border gates, open paths, and tracks to restrict illegal crossings.
Currently, amid the complicated developments of the disease, the Ha Tinh provincial Border Guard Command continues mobilizing more troops to strictly manage border areas.
Addressing the event, General Van acknowledged and hailed the great achievements of the unit over the past time, asking them to further boost dissemination work about COVID-19 prevention and control work.
In addition, the unit should closely work with relevant agencies to manage and control border areas to help curb the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.
On this occasion, General Van and the delegation also offered incense to commemorate fallen soldiers at the Dong Loc Junction national historical site in Can Loc district, Ha Tinh province.
