On behalf of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and the Ministry of National Defense, General Ngo Xuan Lich, a Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the CMC and Defense Minister, congratulated General Cuong on the noble reward presented by the Party.
General Lich said that it is the Party’s, the State’s and military’s acknowledgement of General Cuong’s merits and contributions to the national revolutionary cause and emphasized that as a Party member for 40 years now, General Cuong has taken different posts at different military agencies and units, got involved in the national protection war at the Northern border, and made contributions to the Party’s revolutionary cause and the military-building cause as well.
The Defense Minister stressed General Cuong’s absolute loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and people, good revolutionary ethics and fulfillment of all assigned missions.
General Lich also underscored that in his posts as a member of the Secretariat of the Party Central Committee, permanent member of the CMC and the GDP’s Director, General Cuong, together with the CMC, the Ministry of National Defense’s leadership, has boosted solidarity, given recommendations to the Party and State on making military-defense policies, directed the building of whole people’s defense posture and people’s armed forces as well as the building of a politically-, ideologically-, organizationally- and morally-strong Military Party Organization which can accomplish all missions assigned by the Party, State and people.
In his speech, General Cuong thanked the Party, State, CMC and Ministry of National Defense for their acknowledgement and high appreciation of his study, practice and endeavors over the past four decades.
He also expressed gratitude to the Party, State and military for their consideration, to the people for their love and support, to comrades and relatives for their help, so that he could overcome all difficulties and challenges and strive for accomplishing missions assigned by the Party, State and military.
