PANO - The Party Committee of Defence Ministry’s Office yesterday conferred a 55-year Party badge to General Pham Van Tra, former Politburo member, former Deputy-Secretary of current Military Central Commission and former Defence Minister.
On behalf of the Military Central Commission, General Phung Quang Thanh, Defence Minister, pinned the badge and presented a certificate to General Pham Van Tra.
Speaking on the occasion, General Thanh highly appreciated General Tra’s great contributions to the country’s national defence and construction in various positions. He has fulfilled all the tasks assigned by the Party, the State and the Army, especially in the cause of building the Army and strengthening national defence potential as well as constructing and steadily defending the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
On the same day, on behalf of Defence Ministry’s leaders, Hanoi Capital High Command also handed over the Independence and Military Feat Medals conferred by the State President to 15 retired veteran revolutionary cadres and senior officers.
