Party badges conferred on veteran Party members
PANO - The Party Committees of the Office of the Central Military Commission (CMC) and Office of the Ministry of National Defense (MND) on January 18 in Ho Chi Minh City conferred a 50-year Party badge on retired Sr. Lt. Gen. Phan Trung Kien, former member of the Party Central Committee and former Deputy Minister of National Defense.

In his congratulatory speech, Sr. Lt. Gen. Luong Cuong, permanent member of the CMC and Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People’s Army spoke highly of General Kien’s revolutionary virtue, role as a military officer, and his efforts in surmounting hardship to serve the revolution, people and to excellently fulfill all assigned missions in the past, contributing to building a politically and ideologically-strong army and improving the army’s integrated quality and combat strength.
Sr. Lt. Gen. Luong Cuong wished Gen. Kien good health and hoped the general to always set a good example for military cadres and troops.
The same day, a 70-year Party badge was presented to Professor, Labor Hero Vu Khieu by the Permanent Board of the Municipal Party Committee of Hanoi.
Receiving the badge from Ms. Ngo Thanh Hang, Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Hanoi Municipal Party Committee, Professor Vu Khieu was moved and said the city’s concern about his ongoing works encouraged him to make more contributions in the time to come.
218 other 70 and 80-year Party badges were also awarded to veteran Party members in Dong Da and Hai Ba Trung districts of Hanoi at a ceremony by the municipal leaders.
Addressing the ceremony, Hoang Trung Hai, Politburo member, Secretary of Hanoi Party Committee believed that with high sense of responsibility, intelligence, and experience, the awarded would always set good examples for younger generations and further contribute to the Party building cause.
