PANO - Lieutenant-General Duong Duc Hoa, Commander of Military Zone (MZ) 2, chaired a get-together for retired senior army officers in localities under the Zone on January 18th, on the occasion of the coming Lunar New Year (Tet) 2013, in the presence of Lieutenant-General Mai Quang Phan, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics.
This was the first time the unit held a meeting for its former high-ranking officers, showing the “When drinking water, remember its source” tradition of the Vietnam People’s Army in general, and troops in the Military Zone 2’s armed forces in particular.
At the meeting, the MZ Commander sent Tet wishes to the delegates, and briefed them on some results in implementing military and national defence tasks by its troops.
During a tour to MZ 2’s museum, the former officers reminded their historic fights, magnanimous feats of arms and unforgettable memories through displayed items.
The delegates thanked the MZ 2 Command for the get-together and affirmed that they would make more contributions to the national construction and protection cause, actively participate in local activities, and educate young generations in implementing the Party’s policies and State’s laws.
