The meeting was joined by Commander of Military Region 1 Lt. Gen. Nguyen Hong Thai, and Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial People’s Council and the Provincial Election Committee Pham Hoang Son.
At the meeting, voters were briefed on the five candidates’ backgrounds and their action plans.

Speaking at the event, General Giang expressed his honor to be a candidate for the 15th NA in the province. He showed his delight at seeing the recent socio-economic development of Hoa Thuong commune. The defense minister stated that he hopes that the local authorities and people will continue promoting their potential, solidarity, and determination to complete their development plan, contributing to improving the spiritual and material lives of the local community.
He confirmed that if he is elected as a deputy to the 15th NA, he will work closely with other deputies to study and complete laws and NA resolutions as well as become a bridge connecting voters and the National Assembly. He also promised to engage in policy-making to practically contribute to the national construction and protection cause, especially policies related to socio-economic development in the northern midland, including Thai Nguyen province.

General Giang vowed that in his post, he would give recommendations to the Party, State, and other Governmental officials to improve the efficiency of state management and anticipate capacity and effective responses to traditional and non-traditional security challenges. He, together with leaders of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, will direct the whole military to effectively implement two strategic policies, namely the firm protection of the Fatherland in the current context and the building of an elite, standardized, revolutionary, and gradually modernized people’s army with several modernized army corps, services, and forces.
The defense leader also promised to direct military units to closely collaborate with the local Party committee, authorities, and organizations to develop the local socio-economy and culture while also consolidating the defense-security situation to actively prevent and control natural disasters, diseases, and conduct more search and rescue activities. He also emphasized the importance of carrying out policies for troops’ families.
In addition, he will keep close contact with local authorities and voters, and listen to their opinions to promptly report to functional agencies to address all emerging issues.
At the end of the event, the minister thanked voters for their enthusiasm, constructive opinions, proposals, and their trust in the candidates.
