In 2023 and the first half of 2024, the immigration and import-export activities in Lang Son province have been restored after the COVID-19 pandemic. Meanwhile, the relations between localities along the shared Vietnam - China borderline have been boosted, with a focus on promoting trade, cultural exchange and cooperation in building smart border gates.

Besides, the Lang Son provincial Border Guard Command has coordinated with the Chinese border protection forces to effectively manage and protect the shared borderline and fight against all kinds of crimes, to name but a few. However, they have also faced many difficulties in legal procedures related to customs clearance at Tan Thanh Border Gate.

Addressing the event, General Chien requested the Vietnam Border Guard Command, in coordination with localities and relevant units, to overcome shortcomings, and make recommendations to central agencies to serve people’s exchange and trade activities in border areas.

* The same day, a delegation of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP), led by Deputy Director of the GDP’s Department of Personnel Major General Vu Cong Hoa, visited and checked the implementation of Party and political work, and military tasks in the first half of 2024 in the Cao Bang provincial Military Command.

Briefed upon the unit’s performance and touring the unit, the delegation noted that in the first six months of 2024, the Cao Bang provincial Military Command has strictly implemented the unit’s political missions and thoroughly grasped local situations, while seriously conducting directives and plans on Party and political work in 2024.

During the meeting, the delegation asked the Cao Bang provincial Military Command’s affiliated units to ensure equipment to firmly protect their headquarters and ensure the observance of military discipline and regulations, while supplementing combat readiness documents as regulated, among others.
