Defense leaders extends Tet wishes to troops
PANO - Senior Lieutenant General Do Can, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics (GDP) of the Vietnam People's Army, on January 16 visited and extended Tet greetings to the Army Women's Board and the Army Youth Board under the GDP.
Gen. Can highly appreciated the achievements of the Army Women's Board in 2019, especially the widespread effect of the “Accompanying border women” program. The program called for military units to raise funds of over VND 1.6 billion. Many needy members of the women's associations received gifts and gratitude houses.
On the occasion of the Lunar New Year (Tet) festival, Gen. Can extended Tet wishes to troops of the Army Women's Board in particular and female officers of the military, while expressed his hope that in 2020, they will make more efforts to complete their political missions.

Visiting the Army Youth Board, Gen. Can acknowledged the great efforts of the unit's troops in effectively implementing Youth Union activities and youth movements, and successfully launching various emulation movements.
Notably, the Army Youth Board also held a program entitled “Border Spring-Island Tet 2019” in more than 350 places where the units are stationed. During the program, the organizing panel presented over 60,000 Chung cakes, 18,000 gifts, and 1,400 scholarships. They also presented 29 gratitude houses to policy families, needy troops, and students who have overcome difficulties and hardships and obtained good academic records.
On behalf of the GDP's leaders, Gen. Can extended Tet wishes to the unit's troops and hoped that the results of implementing the youth movements in 2020 will be better than 2019. He also asked the unit to strictly maintain combat readiness during the lunar New Year holiday.
