Vice Admiral Borsboon stressed that through exchanges with senior officers of the Navy of Vietnam, they had further understanding of Vietnam’s position and admiration for strong developments of Vietnam’s Navy over the time.
For his part, General Ty emphasised fruitful cooperation between the two defences since Vietnam and the Netherlands’ Defence Ministers signed an MoU on bilateral defence cooperation last September.
General Ty agreed on contents of the working session between Vietnam and the Netherlands’ Navies and hoped that the two navies would boost their cooperation on training cadres, shipbuilding, studying Vietnamese and Dutch language and exchanging information and measures to cope with the climate change at sea.
The Dutch Vice Admiral promised to share information and experience on pirate control and support Vietnam with marine surveys. Relating to marine security, more exchanges would be made to build Corvette and other ships to be signed with Daman Shipyards Group.
On this occasion, General Ty conveyed his invitation to the Commander-in-Chief of the Netherlands Royal Army to visit Vietnam.
