Enlistees ready to do military service |
While encouraging the enlistees in Bac Lieu city, Sr. Lt. Gen. Phan Van Giang, Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, hoped that they would bring into full play their hometown’s patriotic traditions and try their best to fulfil their duties.
Reportedly, all of the enlistees meet the political and academic standards and are Youth Union members. They are in a good health condition as well.
* The provinces of Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Son La, Ha Giang and Lao Cai handed over thousands of youths, aged 18-27 to military units, with 46 percent of them voluntary to join the military and 11 being Party members.
Before being transferred to military units, all enlistees had their body temperatures checked and received facemasks to prevent COVID-19.
* In Kien Giang province, nearly 700 youths volunteered to join the army. Nearly 96 percent of the enlistees have graduated from high schools and the remainders have college and university degrees.
* With their good preparations, localities under Tien Giang province completed this year’s enlistment drive with absolute safety as they conducted effective prevention against the COVID-19.
It is worth noting that 70.41 percent of the enlistees volunteered to join the military; 0.33 percent of them are Party members and 99.67 percent of them are Youth Union members.
Moreover, 17.50 percent of them hold college and university degrees.

Enlistees receive encouragement from local leaders |
* 100 percent of the enlistees from Tra Vinh province happily joined the army. They are all aware of their duties in the national construction and protection cause.
Notably, the rate of recruits from the Khmer ethnic minority is higher than the previous year.
* Apart from visiting and presenting gifts to enlistees, localities in Soc Trang province equipped them with the Law on Military Service.
* Hau Giang and Ca Mau provinces held solemn ceremonies to hand over youths to military units.
* According to the Military Command of Can Tho city, all enlistees met the enlistment criteria especially for health and academic levels.
The local Party Committee and authorities have paid due attention to the policy for enlistees’ families and presented gifts to the recruits.
Some districts granted saving books worth 1-3 million VND each to enlistees while Vinh Thanh and Thoi Lai districts gave support to youths facing housing difficulties.
