Other districts in Ho Chi Minh City organized recruit handover ceremonies in a serious manner and applied preventive measures against COVID-19.
* In a ceremony in Phan Thiet city, Binh Thuan province, Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Tran Don and other delegates presented flowers to enlistees.
General Don urged them to continue bringing into play the tradition of the hometown and their youth, promptly integrate into the military environment, stay united with other comrades, train themselves to deserve to be Uncle Ho’s soldiers and make contributions to regular military building and national protection.
According to Senior Colonel Pham Van Long, Political Commissar of the Binh Thuan provincial Military Command, 100 percent of the recruits have been aware of their duties and ready and happy to do military service.
* This year, the Military Service Councils at all levels of localities in Military Region 7 concentrated on improving the quality of enlistees in line with laws. All youths enlisted to military units meet political, moral and academic standards and in a good health condition. Nearly 3.2 percent of the enlistees are Party members, higher than the set target.
* Youths from Nghe An, Ha Tinh and Quang Tri provinces in Military Region 4 were handed over to military units after solemn ceremonies. With effective enlistment approaches, the quality of this year’s recruits is higher than the previous year.
Over 50 percent and nearly 30 percent of the enlistees in Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces respectively volunteered to join the military. It is worth noting that 239 youths have college and university degrees, and 16 youths are Party members.
Before the enlistee handover ceremonies, localities organized workshops, meetings, artistic programs and presented gifts to youths doing military service. Especially, before and during the ceremonies, all the recruits had their health checked for COVID-19.
* Localities in Lam Dong and Tay Ninh provinces held similar handover ceremonies, during which all recruits had their body temperature measured and wore facemasks to prevent COVID-19.
