During the exercise, pilots performed downing ground targets from training aircraft Yak-130. Participating forces well ensured technical services and logistics supplies, smooth communication, and navigation for instructors and pilots to perform skills. Notably, instructors and pilots well observed flight regulations, mastered their movements, and were confident in using weapons.
It was evaluated that the exercise was completed with good results, ensuring absolute safety of personnel and equipment.

The live-fire exercise aimed to evaluate the school’s training quality and pilots’ flying and navigation skills and application of the skills to real combat conditions and enhance the capabilities of commanding officers, flight commanders, and other participating forces.
Speaking at the opening of the exercise, Rector of the Air Force Officer Candidate School Senior Colonel Ngo Vinh Phuc said that Yak-130 is an advanced pilot training aircraft. Operating the aircraft would help pilots acquire more experience before flying new-generation fighters. The outcomes of the exercise proved the effectiveness of the school’s pilot training.

He added that during the exercise, Air Force Regiment 940’s instructors and pilots showed their capabilities of mastering and exploiting modern weapons and military equipment.
* In the afternoon the same day, the school organized a conference to review the exercise’s results, during which delegates pointed out forces’ strengths and limitations in performing bombing from training aircraft Yak-130.

Addressing the conference, the deputy chief of the General Staff highly appreciated Air Force Regiment 940’s live-fire exercise plan which was scientific, compliant with regulations, and in accordance with the unit’s reality.
Praising officials, instructors, and pilots’ achievements in the exercise, Major General Pham Truong Son asked participating forces to continue to do a good job of inspecting and reviewing the safety system and pilots to enhance their physical strength and build their stance and confidence to excellently complete all assigned missions.
