Particularly, the Party Committee, Steering Committee 515 of Can Tho city and local authorities have paid attention to proposing comprehensive policies and solutions to raise the efficiency of the search, collection and verification of unidentified martyrs’ remains. Information dissemination has been implemented in an effective manner.

Regarding tasks in the time to come, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vo Minh Luong required the Steering Committee 515 of Can Tho city to continue to strictly grasp the Politburo’s directive, the Prime Minister's decisions; and programs and guiding documents of the National Steering Committee 515 and relevant ministries and branches.

The committee should pro-actively build concrete plans for search, collection and identification of unidentified martyrs’ remains in 2025, which are closely related to the situation and tasks of localities, among others.

* On the same day, Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Le Huy Vinh chaired the conference of the Steering Committee of the Ministry of National Defense-level scientific seminar on the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisers in Laos (October 30, 1949 - 2024).

In his remarks, Sr. Lt. Gen. Le Huy Vinh praised the great efforts of agencies and units in completing all contents mentioned in the plan for the seminar’s organization. He also required the Party committees and chains-of-command at all levels to closely coordinated to grasp the viewpoints and directions of the Politburo, the Secretariat, the Government, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense on the organization of the scientific seminar to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the traditional day of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisers in Laos; ensuring the quality, efficiency of the event and absolute safety in all aspects.

The event is expected to take place at the end of this month in Hanoi.

* Deputy Defense Minister Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San attended the “Determined to win” Emulation Congress in the 2019-2024 period held by Military Hospital 108 on October 8.

At the event, Gen. San applauded the outstanding achievements obtained by the hospital over the past five years. In the coming time, the deputy defense minister required the hospital to promote information dissemination about President Ho Chi Minh’s thought on patriotic emulation; the Party’s policies and guidelines and the State’s laws; the resolutions and directives of the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense on emulation movement and commendation work.

The hospital should innovate the contents, forms, and methods of emulation movement closely linked to its tasks, while focusing on accomplishing political tasks and addressing limitations and shortcomings, as well as successfully completing the tasks of examination and treatment to deserve the title of the leading medical center of the military and the country.

On the occasion, Sr. Lt. Gen. Vu Hai San handed over the second-class Labor Order to Military Hospital 108; the third-class Labor Order and the national Emulation Warrior title to Major General Le Huu Song, Director of Military Hospital 108.

* Sr. Lt. Gen. Huynh Chien Thang, Deputy Chief of the General Staff, led a delegation to inspect Regiment 335 of Division 324 under Military Region 4.

After the inspection, Gen. Thang required the unit to continue to effectively implement higher levels’ resolutions, directives and orders on military-defense tasks; complete the remaining tasks of this year; organize training activities close to real situations and strictly maintain combat readiness regulations.

The unit should pro-actively coordinate with other forces stationed in the locality to maintain political security, social order and safety, and conduct mass mobilization work, while paying much attention to taking care of the material and spiritual life of troops.

* On October 8, Deputy Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To led a delegation to inspect Military Region 5 (MR5)’s implementation of the task of democracy at grassroots level.

In his remarks, Lt. Gen. Truong Thien To acknowledged and praised the achievements gained by MR5 over the past time, required the region to further innovate to raise the quality of training and combat readiness, meeting the task requirement of military building in the new situation; concentrate on political education, law dissemination and training activities to enhance troops’ physical strength.

MR5 should boost administrative reform, digital transformation and application of information technology; ensure information security and network security; carry out citizen reception and democratic dialogue; and promptly solve problems and address legitimate needs of officers and soldiers; to name but a few.
