VPN’s delegation pays tribute to heroic martyrs in Cambodia

In a solemn atmosphere, the delegation observed a minute of silence to commemorate the great contribution of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors who sacrificed their lives while performing international duties in Cambodia, as well as the soldiers of the Kampuchean United Front for National Salvation who laid down their lives for the cause of fighting the Pol Pot genocidal regime.

The Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Monument is a vivid symbol of the solidarity and faithful relations between the two nations. It has been built in various localities across Cambodia to express gratitude to the Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and advisors, and the Cambodian revolutionary armed forces who bravely sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of each country, as well as for the traditional friendship and special solidarity between the two peoples.

The event was an opportunity to educate the delegation members on revolutionary traditions, foster national pride, and raise their awareness of the responsibility to preserve and promote the solidarity and close ties between the two nations, thereby contributing to cultivating the “good neighborliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability,” between Vietnam and Cambodia.

On the same day, the VPN delegation visited the Vietnamese Consulate General in Sihanoukville, Preah Sihanouk province.

At the reception, Sr. Capt. Lai Hong Dong briefed the host on the results of the delegation’s training and task performance during their external affairs voyage in 2026, as well as their exchange activities with units of the Royal Cambodian Navy during their stay in Sihanoukville.

Vietnamese Consul General to Sihanoukville Lai Xuan Chien highly valued the significance of the delegation’s external affairs voyage combined with long-distance sea training. He affirmed that the trip contributed to enhancing mutual understanding and trust, while promoting the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Cambodia.
