Visits by Vietnamese and Chinese naval ships help strengthen bilateral cooperation
PANO - After Frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao of Brigade 162 under Naval Region 4 arrived at Qingdao Port in Shandong province on the morning of December 1, the Vietnam People’s Navy delegation, led by Senior Captain Nguyen Vinh Nam, Deputy Commander of Naval Region 4, paid courtesy calls on the leadership of Qingdao’s municipal authorities and the North Sea Fleet of the Chinese Navy on December 1.

During the meeting, Jiang Lin, Deputy Secretary General of Qingdao’s municipal government, briefed the delegation on the city’s socio-economic development, as well as its cooperation in trade, investment, and people-to-people exchanges with various localities of Vietnam.
He expressed appreciation for the positive results of recent exchanges and cooperation between the Vietnamese and Chinese navies, noting that the visit of Frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao is a typical example. He also expressed confidence that both sides will continue to advance these activities in a deeper and more substantive manner, contributing to strengthening the friendly cooperative relationship between the two militaries.

Providing an overview of the North Sea Fleet’s recent bilateral and multilateral cooperation activities, Rear Admiral Weng Menglong, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Fleet, affirmed that naval exchanges and cooperation are an important component of the relationship between the Vietnamese and Chinese Navies. He noted that the North Sea Fleet highly values the visit of Frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao and hopes the two navies will continue to coordinate future exchanges and cooperative activities, thereby contributing more substantially to the development of Vietnam - China relations and to maintaining peace and stability in the region.
Sr. Cap. Nguyen Vinh Nam thanked the Qingdao authorities and the North Sea Fleet for the warm and thoughtful reception. He emphasized that, in parallel with the positive development of Vietnam - China defense cooperation, relations between the two navies have continued to be strengthened, particularly through delegation exchanges, joint patrols in the Gulf of Tonkin, and reciprocal ship visits. He affirmed that this visit by Frigate 015 - Tran Hung Dao aims to concretize the substance of the Vietnam - China comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, implement the shared understandings of senior leaders of both countries and militaries, and further promote friendly cooperation, mutual trust, and understanding.
