Vietnamese young officers visit Special Force Command of Royal Cambodian Army

Sr. Col. Nguyen Quang Huy, Head of the Military Youth Advisory Board, leads the Vietnam People’s Army young officer delegation to visit the Special Force Command of the Royal Cambodian Army.

The delegation toured the hall of fame of the command’s Unit 7708, paid courtesy calls on, and held working sessions with the region’s leaders and young officers.

On behalf of the Cambodian side, Lt. Gen. Mom Sopheap, Acting Commander of the Special Force Command, expressed his joy at welcoming the delegation. He also briefed the guests on the unit’s glorious history of combat and development, as well as its geographical characteristics and current missions.

Lt. Gen. Mom Sopheap highly valued the program’s significance, affirming that it serves as a practical activity to educate younger generations on the traditional solidarity and faithful friendship between Cambodia and Vietnam. The program allows the two sides’ young officers to exchange and build trust, thereby deepening bilateral military cooperation and actively contributing to the regional peace, stability, and development.

Speaking at the working session, Sr. Col. Nguyen Quang Huy thanked the Special Force Command for the warm reception. He expressed his impression of the unit’s outstanding achievements in carrying out local military and defense tasks, voicing his belief that the region will continue to successfully fulfill its assigned missions.

Highlighting the significance of the program, the head of the Vietnamese delegation noted that practical exchange activities will consolidate the solidarity between the youths of the two countries. He believed that the close ties and trust among today’s young officers will create a firm foundation for strengthening defense cooperation, thereby deepening the Vietnam - Cambodia sound traditional neighborliness.

* On the same day, the delegation visited the Royal Palace of Cambodia to explore the unique historical and cultural values of the nation. This activity aimed to enhance mutual understanding and tighten solidarity between young officers of both nations.
