Vietnamese, Philippine coast guards discuss plan for joint training

PANO - A delegation of Vietnam’s Coast Guard Region 2 Command and officers and crew-members of the vessel BRP Gabriela Silang of the Philippine Coast Guard discussed and agreed on a plan for the joint training on search and rescue operations, fire prevention and firefighting in the sea area off Da Nang on April 15.

During the working session, officers of the two sides discussed methods for command and coordination during the joint exercises on search and rescue operations, fire prevention and firefighting at sea between Ship 8002 of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command and vessel BRP Gabriela Silang of the Philippine Coast Guard to ensure the achievement of the set goals, requirements and absolute safety.

Earlier on April 14, Major General Tran Quang Tuan, Commander of the Coast Guard Region 2 Command hosted the reception for Rear Admiral Joeven L. Fabul, Deputy Commander of the Philippine Coast Guard, as part of activities marking the first-ever visit and exchange between the Philippine Coast Guard and Vietnam’s Coast Guard Region 2 Command.
