Vietnamese military unit presents medical supplies to Laos
PANO – The Phu Tho provincial Military Command held a ceremony at the Tay Trang International Border Gate in Dien Bien province on June 4 to hand over medical supplies to support the Lao People's Democratic Republic in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
Particularly, the Phu Tho provincial Military Command presented 60,000 face masks and 1,400 bottles of hand sanitizer to 705 International Cooperation Company at the Tay Trang International Border Gate.
The Vietnamese defense-economic unit will then transport and hand the medical supplies to the Lao provinces of Luang Namtha, Oudomxay, Phongsaly and Luang Prabang.
According to Senior Colonel Tran Nho Luong, Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the Phu Tho provincial Military Command, the provincial military force decided to provide the medical supplies to Laos in line with the direction of the Phu Tho provincial People’s Committee and the instruction of the Military Region 2 Command.
He said that the gifts demonstrate the care of Military Region 2, the Phu Tho provincial Military Command and military units in the province for the people of Laos.
Such support is expected to strengthen the special solidarity between the two peoples and two armies, contributing to Vietnam-Laos cooperation.
