During their first training day, the Vietnamese Military Medical Team had to endure the weather conditions of the 40oC temperature and the 15% humidity to practice patient transporting, which is set for junior medical personnel. It requires the competitors to be fit with endurance, especially female ones. During this contest, they have to approach a dummy, apply pressure bandages, wear protective masks, conduct an intravenous injection and transport the dummy along a distance of 40 meters.

The weight of the dummy (including armor, helmets, guns, and personal equipment) is 68kg for servicewomen and 75kg for servicemen. During the contest, wearing protective masks and conducting an intravenous injection are new tasks compared to the previous years.

Doctors participating in the contest will not have to compete in such a hard category like their junior colleagues, but they will have to perform their skills in urgent emergencies for wounded soldiers, such as opening the trachea, draining the pleural cavity and cardiac and lung revitalization. In Vietnam, these techniques are only implemented under pre-prepared conditions.

On the same day, doctors and junior medical staff practiced at a simulation center at Forish Military Base.

Reportedly, the Vietnamese Military Medical Team has fulfilled their training contents, meeting all set requirements.
