Reportedly, Hasim got injured when he was collecting relief supplies at Hatay Stadium, where the Vietnam People's Army mission is stationed. Two strong earthquakes happened and caused several boxes of goods to fall on him.

Lieutenant Colonel Lai Ba Thanh from Military Hospital 103, captain of the Vietnamese Military Medical Team, directly examined the Turkish patient. According to the initial diagnosis, the patient suffered a wrist sprain and a soft knee injury.

After having his health checked, the patient was given first aid by Vietnamese military doctors, using a cloth bandage to wrap the sprained joint and providing pain reliever. The doctors required him to return on the afternoon of February 21 (local time) for re-examination.
