An exercise for solidarity and friendship

The joint exercise took place off the coast of Vietnam’s Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. Ship 8001 from Vietnam’s Coast Guard Region 3 Command and Ship KN Pulau Dana-323 from the Indonesian Coast Guard greeted each other with horn blasts. Senior Colonel Nguyen Minh Khanh, Deputy Commander and Chief-of-Staff of the Coast Guard Region 3 Command, then held a radio conversation with the Indonesian crew to finalize details of the joint exercise.

Onboard Ship 8001, the alert siren blared, signaling an emergency drill. Major Hoang Van Bien, Captain of Ship 8001, issued orders: "Red alert! Red alert! Everyone to battle positions! Prepare to extinguish a fire on a distressed vessel." Crew-members promptly assumed positions as planned.

Upon identifying the fire’s location, Ship 8001 coordinated with Ship KN Pulau Dana-323 to swiftly approach the scene. The orders from the commanding staff and movements of the crew were executed with urgency, precision, and determination.

During the firefighting operation, they discovered that someone on the distressed ship had fallen into the sea. They immediately pinpointed the position, deployed high-speed rescue boats, and rescued the victim.
