Vietnamese frigate joins ASEAN-China maritime exercise
PANO – Ship 015-Tran Hung Dao of the Vietnam People’s Navy arrived in Zhanjiang, China, on October 21 to join the ASEAN-China Maritime Exercise, which takes place from October 21 to 28.
The Vietnamese naval vessel was welcomed by Major General Hu Wei Hua, Deputy Chief-of-Staff of the South Sea Fleet and Vietnamese Ambassador to China Dang Minh Khoi.

During the exercise, participants will make plans for the joint exercise at sea on communications, safety rules, and commanding signals.
The field stage of the exercise will take place on October 25 and 26.
In addition, participating countries will join other activities such as seminars, sport competitions, and so on.
On the same day, Senior Colonel Le Hong Chien, head of the Vietnamese naval delegation, paid a courtesy visit to Major General Wang Zai Jie, Chief-of-Staff of the South Sea Fleet.
Previously, 015-Dinh Tien Hoang, together with RSS Stalwart (Singapore)and KDB Daruttaqwa (Brunei), practiced the fleet formation, light signals’ transmission, and message decryption.
