An overview of the talk

Reports at the meeting reviewed that in the second quarter of 2023, the two sides have thoroughly grasped and strictly carried out three legal documents and bilateral agreements on border and border gates; cooperated to well manage and protect the borderline and maintain security and order in border areas; effectively combated crime and illegal activities in border areas.

In addition, they have regularly reported to each other on situations in border areas to together deal with circumstances in a timely and effective manner; worked together and supervised the construction of projects in border areas; exchanged information and combated illegal border exit and entry, human and drug trafficking, and smuggling.  

The two sides have also fostered information dissemination and education to mobilize border residents and functional forces to strictly observe agreements on border and border gates signed by the two governments and facilitated locals’ travelling and production, thus strengthening economic, cultural, and social development.

In an atmosphere of friendship, frankness, and cooperation, the Vietnamese and Chinese units discussed and agreed on the orientation for cooperation in the coming time.

In particular, they agreed to maintain periodic talks, continue to coordinate in implementing three legal documents on border management, organize information dissemination and education to help people in border areas understand and strictly observe regulations on border management, strengthen cooperation and information sharing and effectively fight against all kinds of crimes along the borderline and at border gates, foster patrols to prevent illegal entry and exit activities and crimes.
