During the event, both sides reviewed cooperation in this task in 2021. Accordingly, over the past years, despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic, the border protection forces of both countries have well controlled and curbed the spread of the pandemic along the shared borderline. They have instructed their affiliated units to share information related to the pandemic and the fight against all kinds of crime.

Accordingly, they have received and handed over 342 Vietnamese and 270 Cambodian citizens who had not adhered to pandemic prevention and control regulations and illegally crossed the borderline.

In addition, they have also supported each other with cash and medical equipment in the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and natural disasters.

At the talks, both sides discussed some contents related to security and social orders in border areas, such as cooperation in the fight against drug crimes, human trafficking and illegal border crossings.

During the talks, representatives of the Tay Ninh provincial Border Guard Command and representatives of the Public Security, Gendarmerie and Military forces of the three Cambodian provinces signed the meeting’s minutes, and presented gifts to each other to show the solidarity between the border protection forces of both countries.
