Gen. Giang welcomed Gen. Kelly and expressed hope that the two militaries  will continue strengthening their friendship, mutual understanding and trust in the coming time.

The two sides have also developed defense relations in accordance with their memorandum of understanding on defense cooperation signed in 2013. The Ministry of National Defense (MND) of Vietnam thanked New Zealand Ministry of Defense’s efforts in improving English skills and training Vietnamese military officers who participated in UN peacekeeping missions.

General Giang also hoped that the two armies would continue their development on the basis of equality and mutual respect, contributing to promoting cooperation in human resources training, humanitarian assistance, disaster relief and UN peacekeeping operations.
