Vietnam, Laos conduct joint border patrol
PANO - On July 11, Nhon Mai Border Post under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command and Border Company 217 under the Houaphanh provincial Border Guard Command conducted a joint border patrol along the Vietnam - Laos shared borderline, from land markers No.381 to 382.
The two delegations were led by Commanding Officer of Nhon Mai Border Post Colonel Phan Thanh Hong, and Commanding Officer of Laos’ Border Company 217 Captain May Vieng Keo Bun Than.

On the occasion, both sides inspected the shared borderline and land markers, discussed social order and security along the border areas, cleaned border markers, while disseminating related information to their border people.
The joint patrol was implemented in line with regulations on external affairs and as scheduled. The shared borderline and national border markers have been maintained without any signs of illegal encroachment and forest exploitation.
Concluding the inspection, the two units mapped out solutions for the upcoming joint patrol and signed the minutes of the patrol.
