Vietnam, Belarus enhance cooperation in military training
PANO - Deputy Chief of the General Staff (GS) Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc received Chief of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus, Major General Belyi Vladimir Vladimirovich, on June 4 at the Ministry of National Defense’s headquarters in Vietnam.
At the reception, Lt. Gen. Nguyen Quang Ngoc affirmed that the Vietnam–Belarus traditional friendship has been continuously consolidated and cultivated in recent times. The two countries officially upgraded their relations to a strategic partnership during the state visit to Belarus by Party General Secretary To Lam in early May 2025, in which defense cooperation was affirmed as a key pillar of bilateral ties.

Gen. Ngoc also emphasized that defense cooperation between the two countries has been effectively implemented, aligned with overall bilateral relations, and has achieved positive outcomes in various fields, including delegation exchanges at all levels—particularly high-level ones; cooperation between services, corps, agencies, and units under both defense ministries; training and education cooperation; and military science collaboration.
He also applauded the outcomes of the recent talks between the Department of Military Training and School Management under the GS of the Vietnam People’s Army and the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Armed Forces of Belarus. He requested that, in the time to come, both sides continue to enhance cooperation in delegation exchanges, training, experience sharing, and participation in defense competitions organized by each side.

For his part, Maj. Gen. Belyi Vladimir Vladimirovich thanked the Ministry of National Defense and the GS for creating favorable conditions for the Department of Military Training and School Management and the Main Directorate of Combat Training of the Armed Forces of Belarus to hold effective talks. During the event, both sides shared many important topics and identified common interests in their cooperation, focusing on military training and other mutually beneficial areas.
Maj. Gen. Belyi Vladimir Vladimirovich expressed his hope that bilateral defense cooperation between Belarus and Vietnam would continue to grow stronger in the future.
