Vietnam and China actively support cross-border exchange activities
PANO - On November 18, the delegation from four border guard posts namely Pha Long, Muong Khuong, Bat Xat, and Lao Cai International Border Gate under the Border Guard Command of Vietnam’s Lao Cai provincial Military Command and the delegation of Hekou Border Checkpoint for Immigration in China’s Yunnan province held a meeting in Lao Cai province to review their cooperation in the third quarter of this year.

An overview of the meeting |
In Q3-2025, the two sides thoroughly implemented the signed cooperation mechanisms and coordinated effectively in border gate management, entry-exit control; cross-border and cross-border gate crime prevention and control; and maintenance of security and order in border and border gate areas.
At the event, the two sides agreed to continue to strictly actualize the common perceptions reached during the meeting, focusing on the minutes of the 19th provincial-level talks between the delegations of four Vietnamese provinces of Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Dien Bien and China’s Yunnan Border Inspection Station for Immigration (China).

They also reached agreement on effectively maintaining cooperation mechanisms, such as talks, letter exchange, hotline communication, liaison officers, and joint law-enforcement patrols along the border. They will actively support cultural, artistic, and sports exchange activities during major holidays of both sides.
At the meeting, the heads of the delegations awarded the title of “Friendship Ambassador of Q3-2025” to one typical officer of each side.
