 At the teleconference
The teleconference, on June 7, was also joined by Vietnamese representatives from the Department of Military Medicine, Engineer Corps Command, Military Hospital 175, and Military Medical University.

At the conference, the UN representative highly appreciated Vietnam’s commitment and preparation efforts to be ready to send its forces to join the UN peacekeeping operations.

During the upcoming visit, the UN mission will survey Vietnam’s preparations in terms of to-be-deployed forces, their equipment and capacity, and replacement forces. To do that, the mission will visit Vietnam’s relevant units and meet with troops under training in different places in Vietnam to join the UN peacekeeping operations. The working visit will help the UN evaluate primarily Vietnam’s capacity and standards of procedures to provide consultation for Vietnam in specific contents in order to meet the UN requirements.

Vietnam plans to deploy a level-two field hospital to the UN Mission in the Republic of South Sudan (UNMISS) in 2018 and an engineer company in 2019.
