The two-day event with diverse, practical and meaningful activities left a strong impression and spread a message of trust, cooperation and development between Vietnam and China.

During the exchange, Minister Giang and his Chinese counterpart Sr. Lt. Gen. Dong Jun, together with delegations from both countries, took part in numerous activities held in both Vietnam and China.

On the first day in Vietnam’s Quang Ninh province, the two ministers planted a friendship tree, took commemorative photos at Mong Cai International Border Gate, visited Tra Co Border Post, attended the groundbreaking ceremony of Hai Son commune medical station, and visited Tran Phu High School. Notably, the two defense chiefs held talks during which they shared common concerns and agreed that the Border Defense Friendship Exchange is a highlight in bilateral defense relations and continuing to expand.

On the second day in China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, the two ministers visited Dongxing Border Company, planted a friendship tree, attended sports exchanges between the two sides’ officers and soldiers, laid wreath at Vietnam - China People’s Revolutionary Martyrs Memorial, attended the launch of the 40th joint patrol and joint training in the Gulf of Tonkin, visited the “Ho Chi Minh Trail at Sea” relic site, and toured the Fangchenggang international medical pilot zone.

Activities conducted at both high- and grassroots levels helped strengthen mutual trust, enhance understanding, and deepen defense cooperation between Vietnam and China, as well as solidarity and friendship between border communities and border protection forces of the two countries. The program continued to resonate, delivering a positive message of a border of peace and a friendship built on specific and practical joint actions.

The success of the 10th edition affirmed its role as an effective and substantive cooperation mechanism between the two defense ministries. Through joint activities, both sides shared experience in border management and protection, coordinated in addressing emerging issues, and promoted the building of a border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.

In addition, the active participation of local authorities and people in border areas, along with friendship projects, free medical check-ups and medicines, livestock support, and scholarships implemented during the exchange brought practical benefits and contributed to improving the livelihoods of border communities on both sides.

The success of the 10th exchange once again demonstrated the shared determination of the two parties, states and militaries to continuously strengthen the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China. The outcomes not only enhanced trust, consensus and shared responsibility in maintaining a border of peace, but also reinforced a strong social foundation for stable, healthy and sustainable bilateral relations in the future.
