Projects on building, embellishing Vietnam - Cambodia friendship monuments to be sped up
PANO - On October 15, the eighth meeting between the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the National Council of the Solidarity Front for the Development of the Cambodian Motherland (SFDCM) took place in Ho Chi Minh City to review the implementation of projects on building, restoration, and renovation of Vietnam - Cambodia friendship monuments in Cambodia.
The Vietnamese delegation was led by Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Vo Minh Luong while the Cambodian delegation was headed by SFDCM President Samdech Men Sam An.
At the meeting, both sides highly valued the positive results achieved in carrying out the contents of the Minutes of the seventh meeting, signed on December 29, 2024, in Ho Chi Minh City. They highlighted the effective implementation and progress of the projects.
The two sides affirmed their close coordination in supervising and urging relevant agencies, units, and localities to carry out the construction, and renovation of these friendship monuments.

They agreed to continue effectively implementing the contents agreed upon at previous meetings; strengthen coordination and direction to accelerate the progress of the projects, funded by Vietnam, to ensure timely completion, quality, and efficiency. They also agreed to review completed monuments that have received Vietnamese financial assistance and to organize inauguration ceremonies and handovers to Cambodian local authorities for management, preservation, and protection.
