Preparation for 1st Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange checked
PANO – Lt. Gen. Le Duc Thai, Chief of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, chaired a working session with relevant agencies on February 15 to review the preparation for the first Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange.
Reportedly, the Staff of the Vietnam Border Guard Command has collaborated with units to give recommendations to higher levels’ leaders on establishing two groups to observe the preparation.

Relevant units have completed the construction of “Friendship Military Medical Clinic” at the Hoa Lu International Border Gate in Vietnam’s Binh Phuoc province while coordinating with the Cambodian side to build Memorial House X16 in Memot commune, Tboung Khmum province of Cambodia.
In addition, the Department of Political Affairs of the Vietnam Border Guard Command has directed the Binh Phuoc provincial Border Guard Command to provide timely advice for the local authorities to select needy border families and children to hand over gifts and scholarships.
The concrete plans for the border marker saluting ceremony, the joint border patrol, the tree-planting ceremony, and other activities, have been also completed.
Speaking at the session, General Thai applauded efforts of all relevant forces, and at the same time urged them to continue reviewing and completing their assigned tasks,
As scheduled, the first Vietnam-Cambodia Border Defense Friendship Exchange will take place in April this year in both Binh Phuoc province of Vietnam and Tboung Khmum province of Cambodia.
