Lao units visit Vietnamese border posts
PANO - A delegation of the military command and police force of Sop Bao district, Houaphanh province, Laos, on August 23, visited and extended congratulations to Long Sap and Chieng Son border posts under the Son La provincial Border Guard Command on the occasion of the 78th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - 2023).

During the meetings, the two Vietnamese border posts sent sincere thanks to the Lao side for their sentiments, hoping that both sides, in the coming time, would continue to support each other in various fields.
The two sides affirmed that this activity contributed to cultivating great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, as well as showing understanding and cooperation between the border protection forces of Houaphanh province (Laos) and Son La province (Vietnam).
On the occasion, the units exchanged information and discussed measures to ensure security and social order and safety on both sides of the shared borderline.

The same day, Muong Lan Border Post under Vietnam’s Son La provincial Border Guard Command and Border Company 212 under Laos’ Houaphanh provincial Military Command carried out a joint patrol. At the end of the patrol, the two sides inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and agreed on the next patrol.
Additionally, many units on both sides of the shared borderline between Houaphanh and Son La provinces agreed to implement coordination activities to celebrate the 78th anniversary of Vietnam’s National Day, contributing to fostering Vietnam - Laos solidarity “forever green and eternally sustainable.”
