Lao military unit receives support from Thanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command
PANO - The Thanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command, on November 24 at the Border Post of the Na Meo International Border Gate, handed over 50 tons of cement and two tons of rice to the Huaphanh provincial Military Command, Laos.
Second-in-command of the Thanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command Senior Colonel Cao Huu Cuong held that the activity came in accordance to Proposal No. 2865/BCH-HP, issued on October 20, 2023 of the Huaphanh provincial Military Command on supporting rice for national protection and materials for renovation and construction of the unit’s barracks on the occasion of the 75th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army.
The gift has shown the care of the Thanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command, hoping that the Lao military unit would overcome difficulties to fulfill all assigned missions, and continue to work with the Vietnamese side to firmly protect the sovereignty and border security along the shared borderline of the two provinces.

Receiving the support, Senior Colonel Phansi Xonmixay, Political Commissar of the Lao Huaphanh provincial Military Command underscored that both units are tasked with protecting national sovereignty; therefore, over the past time, they have closely coordinated to conduct joint patrol and meetings and protect national border markers. Especially, the Thanh Hoa provincial Border Guard Command also organized a refresher course on border work for 40 military officers of the Huaphanh provincial Military Command.

Besides, on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year and important events, the Vietnamese military unit also visited and presented gifts to the Lao border protection forces and offered necessities to Companies 214, 215 and 216 under the Huaphanh provincial Military Command to help them upgrade barracks, encouraging them to accomplish all assigned tasks, and together build the border of peace, solidarity, cooperation and development.
