Lao military unit extends New Year greetings to Vietnamese border posts
PANO – A mission of Border Company 217 of Laos’ Houaphan provincial Military Command, led by its Commander Major Somneuk Khounphachanh, visited and congratulated the Tri Le, Nhon Mai, and My Ly Border Posts of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command ahead of the Lunar New Year (Tet) Festival.

During the meetings, the two sides exchanged experience in the management and protection of sovereignty and security in border areas over the past time.
For his part, the Lao head delegate thanked the units under the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command for helping troops of Border Company 217 in protecting the shared borderline between Vietnam and Laos.
Meanwhile, the hosts thanked the guest for the visit and took this occasion to invite the Lao troops and people to attend the Lunar New Year celebration with troops of the Nghe An provincial Border Guard Command and Vietnamese ethnic minority people in the locality.
Commanding officers of Vietnam’s Tri Le, Nhon Mai, and My Ly Border Posts affirmed that in the coming time the units will promote information exchange and cooperate with the Lao border units to protect peace and security in the shared borderline of the two countries.
