According to a report delivered at the meeting, from May 3 to 5, a delegation of the department, led by its Deputy Chief Senior Colonel Nguyen Thanh Hai, had a fact-finding tour in Quang Ninh province and Hanoi capital city and checked the preparations for activities in the framework of the exchange.

The delegation surveyed hosting places for such activities in Quang Ninh as welcome and farewell ceremonies for the Chinese delegation, dissemination of law to border people of the two countries, planting of a friendship tree, photo exhibition, seminar, cultural, artistic, and sport exchanges, and events in Hanoi such as paying a courtesy call on the leadership of the Vietnam Border Guard Command, paying tribute to President Ho Chi Minh, visits to the Presidential Palace relic site, the Border Academy and other cultural and tourist sites.
After the survey, plans for each activity were developed; scenarios were also drafted; advantages and disadvantages during the implementation of the plans and scenarios rehearsals were also pointed out; and coordination work among related forces, engagement of forces and vehicles were mentioned as well.
On hearing the report on the outcomes of the survey in Quang Ninh and Hanoi as well as suggestions and proposals from relevant agencies, Gen. Bung hailed the survey delegation for their task performance.
Gen. Bung emphasized the significance of this first-ever exchange to boost political trust and improve the awareness of young officers of participating agencies of the friendship, solidarity, close ties between the border protection and management forces of Vietnam and China, contributing to building the Vietnam-China border of peace, friendship, stability, cooperation and development.
The official asked relevant agencies to enhance coordination, perfect and implement plans, and work with authorities in the host localities to ensure forces, vehicles, materials, healthcare and security, and others to make this first exchange a success.
