At the reception, General Tien expressed his gratitude to the people and military of the former Soviet Union and the current Russian Federation for the great support to Vietnam in wartime.

He affirmed that all generations of Vietnamese people would always treasure the wholehearted assistance of the Russian people, considering it as a priceless asset of the two countries.

For his part, General Iuri Dmitrievich Sudakov said that the Russian delegates were happy to return to Vietnam, witnessing the country’s tremendous development. He believed that under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the country will further develop.

* The same day, General Tien hosted a reception for a delegation of the Department of Military Science and History of the Lao Ministry of National Defense, led by its Director, Major General Viengsay Somvichith.

At the event, General Tien affirmed that the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense highly valued the results of research jointly conducted by the Vietnam Institute of Military History and the Department of Military Science and History of the Lao Ministry of National Defense.

He suggested that the two sides should continue enhancing delegation exchange, cooperation in personnel training, and scientific research.

For his part, General Somvichith hoped the Vietnamese side will continue assisting the Lao military to search for war documents, helping the Lao Department of Military Science and History fulfill their tasks.
