At the reception, both senior officers highly spoke of the bilateral defense ties between Vietnam and France over the past time, stressing that it gained positive achievements in various fields such as combat training, health care for troops, UN peacekeeping operations, defense industry, and so on.

The two officials also affirmed that the potential in defense relations between the two countries has yet to be fully tapped and hoped that the relationship will be developed practically and effectively in the time to come.

* On the same day, Lieutenant General Le Hien Van, Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics received a delegation of the Military Anti-counterfeit Agency of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, led by its head, Senior Lieutenant General Nicolai Petrovich.

On behalf of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Politics, General Van thanked the Russian people and armed forces for their great support during Vietnam’s struggle for national independence and freedom in the past and also in the current national construction and development cause. He also applauded the results of a working session between the Russian agency and the Military Interior Security Department under the VPA’s General Department of Politics and hoped that the two sides would continue expanding cooperation in the field, contributing to consolidating the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries.

For his part, General Nicolai Petrovich pledged that the Russian agency would help the Vietnamese counterparts in personnel training and boost cooperation with the VPA in this field.
