GDP’s Chief receives Belarusian guests
PANO - Chief of the General Department of Political Affairs (GDP) General Trinh Van Quyet received Major General Kasinski Leanid Viktorovich, Chief of the Main Directorate for Ideological Work under the Belarusian Ministry of Defense and Assistant to the Belarusian Minister of Defense for Ideological Work on September 3 in Hanoi.
The host welcomed the delegation of the Belarusian Ministry of Defense’s Main Directorate for Ideological Work to Vietnam on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. He affirmed that the visit held significant meaning, reflecting support for and respect toward the traditional friendship and sound relations between the two peoples and militaries.

General Quyet stressed that the Party, State, People’s Army, and people of Vietnam always value the traditional friendship between Vietnam and Belarus, a relationship nurtured over generations by the leadership and people of both countries. He expressed his delight that the bilateral ties were elevated to a strategic partnership during the state visit to Belarus by Party General Secretary To Lam in May 2025 and voiced confidence that Vietnam and Belarus would continue to foster closer bonds in the time ahead.
The GDP’s Chief added that Vietnam always treasures and remembers the wholehearted support extended by the Belarusian people during Vietnam’s struggle for national independence and reunification, as well as in its subsequent efforts to build and defend the socialist country. As a gesture of gratitude, the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam has built a Monument Dedicated to Soviet Military Advisors, including Belarusian ones, within the grounds of the Vietnam Military History Museum, contributing to further cultivating the traditional friendship between the two countries and their armed forces.
Major General Kasinski Leanid Viktorovich expressed his pleasure at visiting Vietnam and attending the celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day. He shared his deep impression of the resilience of the Vietnamese people and highly appreciated Vietnam’s commemoration of wounded soldiers, martyrs, and contributors to the revolution.
He also welcomed the positive outcomes in Vietnam - Belarus defense cooperation in recent years, voicing confidence that bilateral relations would continue to develop, especially after being elevated to a strategic partnership.
