The monument dedicated to Soviet military advisors, standing 4.2 meters tall, features three figures: Two Soviet advisors providing guidance on missile and aircraft-related techniques and tactics, and a Vietnamese pilot attentively learning instructions. The background illustrates missile and aircraft trajectories, symbolizing the modern weaponry and equipment provided by the Soviet Union, which contributed significantly to Vietnam’s resounding victories during the resistance war.

An inscription at the base of the monument reads: “During 30 years of struggle for national salvation and reunification (1945–1975), the Soviet Union provided timely and effective material, spiritual, and military support, sending military advisors to help Vietnam achieve victory in its resistance war against the U.S. imperialists. The Vietnam - Soviet Union friendship and solidarity was an important factor in strengthening peace and promoting stable development in the region and the world.”

Vietnam always treasures and remains grateful for the tremendous support of international friends. The country attaches great importance to preserving, consolidating, and developing its friendship with brotherly nations and international partners, for a world of peace, cooperation, and sustainable development.

Over the decades, the traditional friendship between Vietnam and the Soviet Union and present Russian Federation has been continuously consolidated. Meanwhile, Vietnam’s relations with members of the Commonwealth of Independent States, including Azerbaijan and Belarus, have also been further promoted and strengthened.
