Foreign defense attachés visit Air Defense-Air Force units
PANO - A delegation of foreign defense attachés to Vietnam, led by Colonel Ton That Tuan, US defense attaché, on August 27 visited Battalion 78 (Regiment 257, Division 361, Air Defense-Air Force Service).
Accordingly, the delegation was briefed on the 50-year history, as well as current functions, missions and equipment of Battalion 78.

During the national liberation war from 1965 to 1975, Battalion 78 participated in hundreds of battles and made many feats of arms, particularly its contribution to the Victory "Hanoi - Dien Bien Phu in the Air" (December 1972). For its outstanding achievements, Battalion 78 has been awarded the “Hero of People's Armed Forces” title by the Party and State.
The delegation also spent time exchanging and sharing experiences with troops, visiting some training grounds and green farms of the units.
Speaking at the event, Colonel Tuan and the delegates expressed their good feelings with their visit to a heroic unit of the Vietnam People's Army (VPA), and said that the visit would strengthen the mutual understanding between the VPA and other countries' armies.
They also wished to have more opportunities to visit and exchange with other units of the VPA in the future.
