They praised the thorough preparations by relevant defense bodies from both nations and appreciated the coordination between local authorities of Son La and Houaphanh provinces. Confident in the success of the upcoming event, they expressed their belief that this exchange would mark a new chapter in bilateral defense cooperation, highlighting the deep bonds of friendship and solidarity between the two countries.

The second Vietnam-Laos Border Defense Friendship Exchange will take place from October 22 to 23, with General Phan Van Giang, Vietnam’s Minister of National Defense, and General Chansamone Chanyalath, Laos’ Minister of National Defense, leading their respective delegations.
The event will feature various meaningful activities such as a ceremonial marking of the border marker, tree planting, visits to border posts and schools, joint crime-fighting drills, patrols, and exchange for young military officers of the two countries. The two sides will also hold talks and sign important cooperation documents to further strengthen defense ties.
