Defense leader checks preparation for 2nd Vietnam-Laos border defense friendship exchange
PANO - Deputy Defense Minister Senior Lieutenant General Hoang Xuan Chien, leading a delegation of the Ministry of National Defense, checked the preparatory work of the second Vietnam-Laos border defense friendship exchange in Moc Chau district, Son La province on September 30.
Gen. Chien and his entourage visited places for holding activities within the exchange, including Long Sap Border Gate, Border Post of Long Sap Border Gate, Long Sap Semi-boarding Primary and Secondary Ethnic School, and Moc Chau district’s Administrative Center. At each stop, the defense leader heard reports, gave opinions on the work and other proposals of relevant agencies and units.

Emphasizing that the exchange is drawing near, Gen. Chien asked related agencies and units under the Ministry of National Defense to continue promoting sense of responsibilities, work closely with their counterparts from Lao Ministry of National Defense and departments in Son La and Laos’ Houaphanh provinces to complete the preparation for the exchange to ensure it a success.

The second Vietnam-Laos border defense friendship exchange is scheduled to take place this October in Moc Chau district, Vietnam’s Son La province and Sop Bao district, Laos’ Houaphanh province.
Last August, delegations of the two ministries of national defense checked the preparation for the exchange in Moc Chau and Sop Bao districts.

In the first edition in December 2021, various meaningful activities were held in Huong Hoa district, Vietnam’s Quang Tri province and Sepon district, Laos’ Savanakhet province. It left deep impression on the friendship and solidarity between the two militaries and peoples.
