It gathered representatives of border guard forces of six countries, namely the host Vietnam, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand and Myanmar.
Delivering her speech, National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan spoke highly of the Central Military Commission and Defense Ministry in directing and instructing the Vietnam Border Guard to promote external affairs in border areas to foster relations between Vietnam and its neighboring countries.
She hoped that border guard forces in the Greater Mekong Sub-region will further team up together in order to ensure peace, friendship and development among countries in the sub-region.
