At the reception, Gen. Giang congratulated Choi Young Sam on his appointment as Korean Ambassador to Vietnam. He believed that the diplomat will complete his duties, make important contribution to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the RoK across fields, including defense cooperation.

The defense minister emphasized that on the basis of the flourishing relations between the two countries, the bilateral defense ties have been promoted and reaped positive outcomes.

He also noted that the potential for the bilateral defense cooperation remains huge, particularly in such fields that the RoK has strengths and Vietnam has needs as high-quality human resources training and defense industry. The host hoped that Ambassador Choi Young Sam will pay due attention to and create condition for the two defense ministries to carry out agreed cooperation contents.

For his part, Ambassador Choi Young Sam underlined the fine development of the RoK - Vietnam relations. He expressed his honor to be a Korean ambassador to Vietnam after the two countries have upgraded their ties to a comprehensive strategic partnership. He stressed that he will exert his utmost efforts to boost the two countries’ relationship in all spheres, including defense cooperation.

The Korean diplomat also stressed that defense cooperation is among the important cooperation fields between the two nations.

He spoke highly of the significance and outcomes of the host’s official visit to the RoK in March this year, saying that it helped concretize the contents of the Vietnam - RoK comprehensive strategic partnership and affirmed to strive to promote the contents reached during that visit, including delegation exchange, cooperation between arms and services, and in defense industry.
