Defense leader receives Ukrainian ambassador

At the event, Gen. Vinh confirmed that the people and military of Vietnam always remember the great support and assistance that Ukraine reserved for Vietnam in the past struggle for national reunification. He added that the Ministry of National Defense of Vietnam always pays attention to strengthening the bilateral defense ties on par with the two countries’ comprehensive partnership.

Regarding the bilateral defense cooperation over the past time, Gen. Vinh highlighted the two sides’ maintenance of cooperation contents such as delegation exchanges and training. He suggested the functional agencies of the two defense ministries continue to consider cooperative fields that meet each side’s needs and capability.

The Vietnamese defense leader expressed his belief that in his post, the Ukrainian ambassador would continue to make contribution to the development of the bilateral defense cooperation in line with the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between the two countries.

For his part, Ambassador Gaman Oleksandr congratulated the Vietnamese Defense Ministry on successfully organizing the Vietnam Defense Expo 2024 which saw the participation and product display of Ukrainian defense enterprises.

The diplomat hoped that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry would continue to send official delegations to future defense expos in Vietnam. He also stressed his hope for more attention paid to the cooperation between the two defense ministries in the coming time to lift it on par with the two countries’ partnership on the basis of win-win cooperation and mutual benefit.
