On behalf of the Vietnamese Defense Ministry, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh congratulated the Lao People’s Army on its 76th founding anniversary (January 20, 1949 - 2025). He expressed his hope that the cooperation between the two militaries would be further tightened.

For his part, Senior Lieutenant General Khamliang Outhakaysone thanked the Vietnamese Defense Ministry and the GDP for their care towards the Lao People’s Army. He affirmed that the political and strategic trust between the two countries’ militaries continues to grow stronger. He also highlighted the close coordination between the two defense ministries, as well as their mutual support in multilateral forums, mechanisms, and international events hosted by each side.
In the coming time, both sides will strengthen delegation exchange at all levels, foster comprehensive, practical, and effective cooperation in Party and political work, which serves as a foundation for building political trust between the two militaries.
They will also focus on dissemination and education efforts, particularly for the youths, boosting cooperation in the fields of information, journalism, communications, and social media management. Additionally, they also work together to search for, collect and repatriate remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and military advisors who sacrificed their lives in Laos during wartime.

Congratulating the Lao defense leader on his new position, he hoped that Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim would fulfill all assigned tasks, contributing to building the Lao People’s Army and the country.
Lieutenant General Vongsone Inpanphim highly valued the cooperation outcomes between the two GDPs over the past time, thereby contributing to strengthening and deepening the great friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties, states, militaries, and peoples.

* On the same day in Vientiane, the Vietnamese Defense Ministry held a get-together for former Lao military cadets who studied in Vietnam, on the occasion of the 80th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Army and the 76th founding anniversary of the Lao People’s Army. The event was chaired by Senior Lieutenant General Le Quang Minh.
