The official welcome ceremony took place solemnly, filled with the atmosphere of traditional solidarity and special friendship.

After the ceremony, in an interview with local media, the head of the Vietnamese delegation said that the delegation of the VPA was very touched when visiting the heroic and hospitable nation of Cuba. The Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces demonstrated profound fraternal feelings and provided the delegation with a respectful and thoughtful reception, akin to that of family.

Gen. Quyet reaffirmed that the special traditional friendship between Vietnam and Cuba, cultivated by President Ho Chi Minh, President Fidel Castro, and successive generations of leaders of both countries, is rooted in their similarities in revolutionary ideals. Over the past 65 years, since the establishment of the bilateral diplomatic relations, the two countries have continuously strengthened and developed their relationship, proven through high-level exchanges and visits. The recent state visit to Cuba by Party General Secretary and State President To Lam and his spouse, along with a high-ranking delegation in September 2024, has opened a new chapter in the cooperative and friendly relations between the two nations.

The Vietnamese GDP’s Chief affirmed that the visit of the Vietnamese delegation aimed to actualize the common perception of the senior leaders of both countries and militaries, contributing to further consolidating and deepening the bilateral defense cooperation, especially in Party and political work within the military. He affirmed that with the achievements made so far, the traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between the two parties, states, peoples, and militaries will continue to develop and remain an invaluable asset for both the Vietnamese and Cuban peoples.

During the official welcome ceremony, Two-star General Víctor Leonardo Rojo Ramos expressed confidence that through the delegation's activities in Cuba, lasting impressions of the country and its people would be created, thereby solidifying the traditional solidarity and special friendship between the two nations and militaries, as well as between the VPA’s GDP and the Political Directorate of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.

* On the same day, Gen. Quyet and the Vietnamese delegation visited Armored Division 1011 of the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces, during which the guest expressed admiration for the division's rich traditions and continuous growth over the past 59 years (1965 - 2024) of building, fighting, and development.
