Chief of General Staff starts visits to Singapore and Japan
PANO – The high-ranking military delegation of the Vietnam People’s Army, led by Chief of the General Staff and Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang, has left Vietnam for official visits to Singapore and Japan from February 28 to March 5.
Senior Lieutenant General Phan Van Giang has made his visits at the invitation of Lieutenant General Melvyn Ong, Chief of Defense Force of Singapore, and Admiral Katsutoshi Kawano, Chief of Staff, Joint Staff of the Japanese Self-defense Forces.

The official visits to Singapore and Japan of the Vietnamese high-ranking military delegation aim to boost friendship, understanding, and mutual trust between Vietnam and Singapore and between Vietnam and Japan, for peace, stability, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
During the visits, the parties will review bilateral defense cooperation outcomes over the past time and agree on directions and measures to boost defense cooperation in the coming time.
