An overview of the conference

Representatives from various departments of the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and the Lao Ministry of National Defense, as well as functional agencies of Army Corps 15 and the leadership of Vocational College No.21 (Army Corps 15), also attended the conference.

In three months, 50 Lao officials will be equipped with knowledge, techniques, and advanced technologies related to farming and animal husbandry practices in line with the conditions of the socio-economy, climate, and soil characteristics of their country. The training program includes a combination of theoretical study, practical exercises, visits, and experience sharing at companies and factories of Army Corps 15.

Speaking at the conference, Senior Colonel Le Xuan Phuong stated that this is the second consecutive year that Army Corps 15 has provided the training course on agriculture for Lao officials. This activity not only helps provide human resources for socio-economic development of Laos but also contributes to strengthening the special solidarity and friendship between the parties, states, militaries, and people of Vietnam and Laos.

Colonel Khamhang Xaymoungkhoun affirmed that Vocational College No.21 and Army Corps 15, along with its agencies, have made excellent preparations in terms of infrastructure, instructors, materials, and curricula to ensure the highest quality and effectiveness of the training course. They have also expressed the desire for active participation and knowledge acquisition from the trainees, enabling them to apply their knowledge to the future socio-economic development of their localities. They have actively promoted and encouraged people to foster unity between the two countries.

Colonel Khamhang Xaymoungkhoun expressed gratitude to the Vietnamese Ministry of National Defense and Army Corps 15 for providing the training course for Lao officials and people. According to him, the training course in 2022 was highly valued by the Lao Government and Ministry of National Defense, and the trained officials have successfully applied their knowledge and experience to the socio-economic development in their respective regions of Laos. Among Lao officials attending the course, 24 are currently serving in the military, and 10 are from the agricultural department, and 16 are staff from villages, and youth organizations in 10 districts bordering Vietnam.

During the conference, both sides signed a handover minutes and exchanged special local products as gifts.
